Tech Futures Lab launches Digital Suitcase

Our global education platform Digital Suitcase has launched. This online platform teaches adults – like those whose careers are being disrupted by new technologies they can’t quite wrap their heads around – all about this new tech, and helps them prepare for today’s rapidly evolving digital world.

Technology advancements are radically changing how we study, work and live. Artificial Intelligence now provides clarity, productivity, access and deeper understanding of the world around us. The Cloud delivers access to your information, any time, anywhere. The Internet of Things (IoT) offers unparalleled responsiveness, insight and personalisation through monitoring the way we live. With all this change, it is vital we start asking ourselves, are we prepared?

Cue Digital Suitcase, an online platform that teaches everyday adults crucial digital knowledge that we all need to know to thrive in today’s digital world.

It has been developed for adults who are aware of the technology but lack any real comprehension of how things work, or what things really mean. Digital Suitcase is video-based, light-hearted, jargon free, and features highly knowledgeable hosts who walk you through new or difficult concepts. Topics include Blockchain, 3D Printing, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and Augmented Reality.

Frances Valintine, Tech Futures Lab Founder says the best response to the challenge posed by technological advancement is to be curious, to be open-minded and to commit to the discovery of new skills. “Parents, employers and leaders need to learn and adopt new practices to remain connected to their job, their family and the fast changing world," says Frances.

“Digital Suitcase is designed to build understanding and confidence. It simplifies the language and complexities of digital technologies and builds knowledge that can be directly applied at work or home,” says Frances.

Digital Suitcase was developed from crowd research. Everyday people working across multiple industries in the US, Canada, India, UK, Australia, Sweden and New Zealand were asked about topics to gauge skill and interest levels, and to understand their motivations, needs and pain points.
